Our Lady of the New Millennium – One Man’s Dream, a book detailing the story of the thirty-three foot stainless steel Our Lady of the New Millennium statue is set to be released on May 9, 2009. Our Lady of the New Millennium is the fulfillment of a childhood dream of Chicagoan Carl Demma to bring the Blessed Mother to all the people of Chicago.
The beautiful statue, sculpted by Charles Cropper Parks of Wilmington, DE, is designed to move from parish to parish, generating devotion to the Blessed Mother wherever she goes. Since 1999, she has visited more than 175 sites, and continues to inspire reverence and devotion in all those who see her.
The book release will coincide with the statue’s appearance at Holy Name Cathedral, located at N. State St. & Superior Streets in downtown Chicago on Mother’s Day weekend, May 9 & 10th.
